Summary
Mr. Harbour specializes in strategic planning and mergers & acquisitions,
having served in many key management and advisory roles for established public
companies and privately held businesses. He has almost 20 years of experience
in the areas of strategic consulting, financial planning and corporate development.
As a former corporate development executive, Mr. Harbour brings
a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to Apex Partners. His understanding
of buy-side strategy and key decision points enables the firm to better position
its clients in the M&A marketplace. Throughout his career, he has worked
closely with entrepreneurial owners and executive management teams to bring
value-added ideas and solutions to complex business problems.
Education and Accreditation
Mr. Harbour earned a bachelor of accountancy with an emphasis in economics at
the University of Mississippi and attended business school at The Christian
Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee.
Work Experience
Mr. Harbour began his career with a Big Five public accounting and consulting
firm. There he gained diverse project and transaction related experience within
a broad range of industries, including commercial services, distribution, healthcare,
manufacturing, real estate and transportation. He managed corporate financial
planning & analysis activities for an international division of Federal
Express Corporation and went on to direct an aggressive retail acquisitions
program at Blockbuster Entertainment.
Most recently, Mr. Harbour served as vice president of corporate
development for Group MAC, a consolidator of facility-based service and specialty
contracting firms. In this capacity, Mr. Harbour was primarily responsible for
developing new markets, evaluating targets, qualifying acquisition opportunities,
establishing deal parameters, and serving as principal in negotiations. His
efforts were vital to the early success of the company, which grew exponentially
during his tenure from a private start-up to almost $4 billion in annual sales.
The company achieved Fortune 500 status and became the largest provider of facility-based
services and solutions in the United States. In less than three years, the company
closed over one hundred separate transactions, individually valued between $5
million and $100 million.
Mr. Harbours latest venture is the formation of Apex Partners,
LLC, a boutique investment banking firm focused on middle market opportunities
where business owners desire to pursue strategies involving mergers, acquisitions,
divestitures or recapitalizations.
Mr. Harbour is a resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida where
he lives with his wife and two children.
